New feature of Google Chrome browser: allows users to turn off promotional ads on new tabs

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Coje_He and Orange Baba for their clue delivery! CTOnews.com Sept. 22, Google and Chrome use their home pages to display promotions and ads below the search box. Although users who visit Chrome can find it and may use it, to be honest, every time a user opens a new tab, the promotional ads on Google's new tab are very annoying. In 2019, Google began to allow users to turn off promotional ads on the new Chrome tab. This feature is now finally enabled by default, and users can click to close the promotion in the 2022 Chrome 106stable release.

In addition to displaying the most commonly used websites on the new tab, Chrome web browsers also use NTP to promote their products, sometimes displaying burst and non-burst messages.

So far, Chrome has not provided the option [x] to get rid of these ads, and users can now temporarily eliminate these promotions with the mouse click option [X].

How to close promotional ads on new tabs in Chrome (2022) to launch a Chrome browser

Open a new tab

When you see a message, it will also be included in the eliminate option through the option [x]

Just click it and Chrome will display "you will never see this specific message again" with an elimination option. It will disappear in a few seconds, and it won't appear again unless Google pushes another one.

CTOnews.com has learned that users will be able to delete individual promotions, and Chrome may still display burst messages without allowing users to delete them.

The stable version of Google Chrome 106 is expected to be released in the week of September 27.
