IC Insights: global DRAM sales plunged 36% in June and 21% in July

According to foreign media reports, global DRAM sales plummeted 36% in June and 21% in July after reaching the highest monthly level in more than two years in May, according to foreign media reports.

Earlier, data released by research institutions showed that global DRAM sales were $24.25 billion in the first quarter of this year, the second consecutive quarter of decline since hitting a new high of $26.24 billion in the third quarter of 2021.

In the second quarter of this year, global DRAM sales were $25.59 billion, up 5.53 per cent from a month earlier.

In the global DRAM market, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix account for more than 70% of the market, far higher than other manufacturers. In addition, TrendForce expects the decline in DRAM prices to widen to 13% Murray 18% in the fourth quarter.
