CTOnews.com, September 23 (Xinhua)-- Apple has released the latest firmware update for AirPods Pro 2 after Apple Watch Ultra's watchOS 9.0.1. This means that once initial users get these new products, they will see that there are system updates to install.

The new version of Apple's AirPods Pro 2 firmware is 5.0 focus 5A377. So far, Apple has not disclosed any changes to the firmware. For Apple Watch Ultra, however, we know that the development team is already working to fix microphone audio problems on the device.

For AirPods Pro 2, Apple may be doing something similar. Interestingly, the company is also testing firmware updates for AirPods Max, which are not yet available to users. One developer found that Apple is preparing a new audio codec in this firmware to improve the calling capabilities of advanced headphones.

This beta firmware has reason to expect that Apple may be preparing support for lossless audio for AirPods Pro 2, as Bluetooth 5.3 currently does not have lossless audio.

In addition, references that support LC3 codecs and LE audio have appeared in Apple iOS 16 code, which is expected to bring LE audio support in the future. It is worth mentioning that a senior engineer at Apple can also confirm that they are actively participating in the new standard.

With the support of LC3, Apple will be able to get rid of the out-of-sync phenomenon of AirPods in users' ears and improve battery life through low-power standards, while focusing on efficiency and stability.

Of course, it's not clear when Apple will actually do this. For example, although the new Apple TV 4K can support the 120Hz refresh rate, Apple has not yet installed this feature, which is the same reason.
