Delivery of the 600th Airbus A320 Series aircraft made in China

CTOnews.com Sept. 23, today, Airbus announced the delivery of the 600th aircraft to be assembled by the Asian assembly line of Airbus A320 series aircraft in Tianjin.

The A320neo aircraft is equipped with CFM International's Leap-1A engine and is operated by China Eastern Airlines. The cabin features 158 seats, including 8 business class seats and 150 economy class seats.

Data show that by the end of July 2022, China Eastern Airlines operated a total of 422 Airbus aircraft, including 355 A320 series aircraft, 55 A330 series aircraft and 12 A350 aircraft.

CTOnews.com learned that the Asian final assembly line of Airbus A320 series aircraft in Tianjin, which opened in 2008, is Airbus's first aircraft production line outside Europe. In November 2021, Airbus announced that it would expand the production capacity of the final assembly line to A321 aircraft.

At present, Airbus has four A320 series aircraft assembly facilities, which are located in Toulouse, France, Hamburg, Germany, Tianjin, China and Mobile, USA. By the end of this year, all four final assembly facilities will have the final assembly capacity of the A321 aircraft.

By the end of August 2022, Airbus A320neo series aircraft had received more than 8500 orders from more than 130 customers around the world. Since the first A320neo went into operation six years ago, Airbus has delivered more than 2300 A320neo series aircraft.
