The NASA Artemis-1 lunar landing rocket was postponed, this time due to a tropical storm

CTOnews.com, September 25 (Xinhua)-- after several fuel leaks, NASA successfully completed the fuel test of SLS on Wednesday, local time, and hopes to launch Artemis 1 on September 27.

However, due to the approach of Tropical Storm Ian, the launch window on Sept. 27 is also lost.

Tropical Storm Ian formed in the central Caribbean on Friday night local time. Meteorologists expect Ian to become a hurricane on Sunday and make landfall in the United States from the Gulf of Mexico coast in Florida, the Washington Post reported.

Because of the possibility of Ian becoming a hurricane, NASA has decided to withdraw the SLS rocket to the rocket assembly building at the Kennedy Space Center. NASA will make a final decision on Sunday local time. If the situation deteriorates, the withdrawal will begin on Sunday night or early Monday morning.

CTOnews.com learned that if Artemis 1 could not be launched before October 3, the next earliest launch window would be October 17.
