The total compensation of Oracle Oracle Chairman and CEO both exceeded $130 million in the last fiscal year.

CTOnews.com, September 28 (Xinhua)-- Oracle executives are once again among the highest-paid executives in the United States because of Oracle's decision last year to give executives more time to earn stock options, according to the Wall Street Journal.

In its annual proxy statement on Friday, Oracle said Chairman Larry Ellison and CEO Safra Catz each received total compensation of more than $138 million (989 million yuan) in the fiscal year ended May 31.

Most of the two men's compensation, or $129.3 million (about 927 million yuan) in their respective compensation, reflects a decision by Oracle, according to the proxy statement. Oracle had previously decided to give executives an additional three years to acquire a significant portion of the stock options originally granted in 2018.

CTOnews.com learned that Oracle said its decision to extend stock option compensation until the end of May 2025 had been criticized by some investors. However, in routine consulting votes in recent years, about 60% of shareholders supported Oracle's approach to executive pay.
