Armor announces the industry's first 2 TB microSDXC memory card, which will be mass produced next year.

CTOnews.com, September 28 (Xinhua)-- Armor today announced the release of the industry's first 2 TB microSDXC memory card prototype, using its innovative BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory and internally designed controller.

According to reports, with the increasing data capacity of smartphones, motion cameras and portable game consoles, the demand for super-large capacity SD memory cards to store these data is unprecedentedly high. SD Association's SDXC specification has supported memory cards up to 2 TB for more than a decade, but so far 2 TB memory cards have not been successfully manufactured.

The working prototype of the armor 2 TB card is designed using the company's proprietary manufacturing technology and is made up of 16 1 Tb 3D flash chips stacked with a maximum thickness of 0.8mm in the chip mounting area, making it suitable for high-capacity data recording applications.

CTOnews.com learned that the Armor 2 TB microSDXC memory card is scheduled to begin mass production in 2023.
