CTOnews.com Sept. 30, earlier this week, Apple released iOS 16.1 developer preview version Beta 3 and public beta version Beta 3. This version also seems to have a hidden improvement, extending the adaptive penetration mode introduced in the second generation AirPods Pro to the original AirPods Pro.

As can be seen from the screenshots shared by netizens, the original AirPods Pro users who updated to the firmware 5A304A of AirPods beta can now see the "adaptive penetration mode" option in the AirPods section of the phone's settings.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple AirPods Pro 2, which is equipped with an H2 chip, claims to be able to take advantage of the powerful performance of the H2 chip, greatly reducing the intensity of loud noises such as sirens or power tools, and users can comfortably hear the sounds around them.

It is not known how effective this function will be when it is devolved to the original AirPods Pro, which has only H1 chips after all.

Apple iOS 16.1 also enables battery percentage for more iPhone models such as iPhone 11 and iPhone 13 mini. Apple has adjusted the battery indicator to a dynamic icon and added a real-time active API.
