CTOnews.com Sept. 30, according to the latest CINNO Research data, Chinese mainland market smartphone sales in August were about 20.44 million, down 7.4% from July and 26% from the same month last year. Since February this year, it has been the seventh consecutive month of negative year-on-year growth, and terminal market demand has remained sluggish, the worst single-month sales in August since 2015.

Honor, OPPO, vivo, Apple and Xiaomi were among the top five smartphone sales in August. Among them, Glory won the championship for the third time this year, and it is the only one of the top five brands with positive month-on-month growth, but it is also down 14.4% from the same period last year. In terms of specific models, the Glory 70 ranks third in single-machine sales this month.

OPPO and vivo ranked second and third, down 38.3 per cent and 37.2 per cent respectively from the same period last year, and 6.3 per cent and 7.7 per cent from the previous month. OPPO sales are responsible for channel volume, while A57 and Reno 8 are Y33s and Y77 in vivo. These models are among the top 10 unit sales this month. Xiaomi's sales this month are down 40.3% from the same period last year and 21.4% from the previous month. Among Top5 brands, the year-on-year and month-on-month declines are the biggest.

CTOnews.com learned that the iPhone 13 still tops the list of single-machine sales this month. CINNO Research pointed out that the mid-and high-end series of OPPO and vivo products are not popular. In addition, CINNO Research expects the release of the iPhone 14 series to bring a wave of sales boost to the Apple brand, especially on iPhone 14 Pro phones.
