CTOnews.com October 2 news, according to Indian media today, India's "Mangarian" Mars probe has lost contact with the ground, the probe weighs about 1.35t. Launched in November 2013 and entered Mars orbit in September 2014, it recently lost contact after more than eight years of work.

CTOnews.com learned that on November 5, 2013, India launched Mangarian from the launch site on the island of Srihrigoda, making it the fourth country in the world to successfully explore Mars. "Mangarian" means "Martian spacecraft" in Indian. At the end of November 2014, the probe was named by time magazine as the 25 best inventions of 2014, calling it a "super-intelligent spacecraft."

The Mangarian Mars rover is an unmanned vehicle that weighs 1.35 tons and is the size of a standard refrigerator covered with gold reflective foil. The probe also carries five instruments to study the Martian surface, weather, mineral deposits and so on. At a cost of 4.5 billion rupees (520 million yuan), the probe was launched by a polar-orbiting carrier rocket. The data collected by Mangarian contribute to a better understanding of the formation of planets, the causes of life, the existence of matter in the universe, and so on.
