Amazon has confirmed that it has suspended recruitment in its retail business, which currently has too many employees.

Earlier reports quoted an internal notice from Amazon as saying that Amazon had asked HR recruiters to close all job postings for retail jobs in the next few days and advised them not to call job seekers for the time being.

Amazon spokesman Brad Grasser (Brad Glasser) said that there are still a large number of job openings throughout the company.

"We have many different businesses at different stages of development and will constantly adjust their recruitment strategies at different times," Glather said in a statement. "

In addition to Amazon, many companies have adjusted their hiring plans because of concerns about the global economy. Google, Apple and Meta, the parent company of Facebook, have announced that they will slow or temporarily suspend hiring. Retail remains Amazon's main source of revenue. Andy Jassy, Amazon's chief executive, is not only grappling with slowing growth in his core retail business, but is also moving quickly to rein in costs.
