CTOnews.com, October 5, according to CCTV news, on October 4 local time, European High performance Computing Corporation (EuroHPC JU) announced that it would select six member countries, namely, Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, France, Italy and Poland, to deploy the first European quantum computer network in history.

EuroHPC JU will integrate existing supercomputers in these six countries to form a quantum computing network, which will be put into use in the second half of 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that these new systems will be used primarily for research and development purposes for a wide range of European users, no matter where they are located in Europe, the scientific community, as well as industry and the public sector. The selected scheme ensures the diversity of quantum technologies and architectures, enabling European users to access many different quantum technologies.

In addition, the plan has a total investment of more than 100 million euros (about 703 million yuan), half of which comes from the European Union and the other half from the 17 countries involved in the project.
