CTOnews.com, Oct. 5 (Xinhua)-- Apple recently said it will work with more than 150 partners through a community education program to provide new learning opportunities, programming, creative and career opportunities in more than 600 communities.

A few weeks ago, California State University (CSUDH) welcomed more than 300 primary and secondary school students from all over Los Angeles to participate in the "STEAM Max" experience in the lab of the STEM Center for Educational Innovation (CISE). This activity provides an opportunity for participants from different backgrounds to learn new technological skills, including App design. In the same week, the university opened extracurricular programming clubs in six primary and secondary schools and began holding regular STEM Discovery Day on Saturdays, with CSUDH computer science majors as lecturers.

CSUDH is one of the partners of the Apple Community Education Program (CEI), which was launched in 2019 to provide programming, creative, and career opportunities for learners of all ages, as well as communities that have long been neglected in the field of technology. Since then, based on years of cooperation with educational institutions and communities, the company has quickly extended the program to 99 countries and 50 states across the United States.

CTOnews.com learned that CEI,Apple works with schools, educational institutions, and community-based organizations to provide Apple hardware, scholarships, financial support, and educator resources; at the same time, Apple expert teams work with educators to make technology help students' learning. Apple works with each partner organization to customize and enhance educational programs to support the educational goals of the community, and combine Apple's unique hardware, software and vocational learning resources to change students'in-school and extracurricular educational experiences.

In the two years since CSUDH partnered with Apple, the university has provided a new STEAM experience for nearly 2000 teachers and students in the greater Los Angeles area, and is expected to benefit nearly 4000 learners from 40 schools this year. The university has also helped many educators obtain computer science guidance certification to ensure that California has enough faculty to qualify for programming and IT vocational training courses.
