CTOnews.com, Oct. 6, according to Taiwan's Economic Daily, Hon Hai and California electric car startup INDIEV today announced the signing of a memorandum of cooperation. Hon Hai's Ohio plant team will assist INDIEV in building the INDI One prototype and negotiate further contract manufacturing.

In response to this partnership, INDIEV founder and CEO Shihai said that the INDI One is a unique model that requires the highest quality automotive craftsmanship as well as strict manufacturing and engineering standards for consumer electronics.

CTOnews.com learned that Hon Hai pointed out that after signing this contract with INDIEV, there will be more discussions on cooperation opportunities to build electric cars in Ohio. At this stage, the two sides are still discussing further cooperation opportunities, in addition to the production of prototype cars, other details of the cooperation will be announced in due course after confirmation.

Hon Hai continued its electric vehicle manufacturing business after completing the acquisition of its plant in Ohio in May 2022. The electric pickup production line at the plant has entered mass production, and the traction production line is expected to start production in the first quarter of next year. Building an INDI One prototype will be Hon Hai's latest electric vehicle business in Ohio. In addition, INDIEV launched the development of INDI One in 2017 and unveiled the prototype car in October 2021.
