Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, Oct. 7 (Xinhua)-- Apple is planning to launch a 27-inch mini-LED external display in the first quarter of 2023, according to Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young.
In a tweet shared with fans, Young said Apple had postponed the release of the monitor until the first quarter of 2023.
Young revealed in July that Apple was planning to launch the mini-LED display sometime in early 2023. Young initially expected Apple to launch the display on the WWDC in June, but he said in May that the launch had to be postponed to October because of design problems, although Young believes the company now aims to launch the monitor in 2023.
CTOnews.com learned that Apple has been dealing with tight supplies of various products, including the Mac and its monitors, throughout 2022, which may have been the cause of the delay.
It is said that Apple's upcoming display will use mini-LED technology and support ProMotion, providing a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The device is not expected to directly replace Pro Display XDR, which is a larger 6K display. Instead, the new monitor will be similar to the Apple Studio Display, a 27-inch 5K display.
Due to support for ProMotion and mini-LED technology, the rumored 27-inch display is expected to be more expensive than the Studio Display, which starts at 11499 yuan.
