Twitter suspended the lawsuit, and Musk had to complete the deal before October 28.
Beijing, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) Musk is preparing to buy Twitter for $44 billion, and a Delaware judge ordered to suddenly suspend Twitter's lawsuit against Musk before the trial, leaving more time for Musk to raise money for the acquisition.
The lawsuit was suspended until 5 p.m. EDT time on October 28, giving Musk more time to raise money. Judge Sarine McCormick (Kathaleen McCormick) said that if the deal could not be completed within her deadline, the two sides would contact her to schedule a trial in November. Mr Musk was scheduled to appear in court on October 17th, but has now been postponed.
Twitter shares fell 3.72% in regular trading and 1.11% in after-hours trading.
Musk spoke again this week, saying he would buy Twitter at the price agreed in April, or $54.20 a share.
