After Samsung and Sony, SK Hynix developed a 100 megapixel image sensor

CTOnews.com October 7 news, SK Hynix has developed a 100 million pixel image sensor, for Sony and Samsung Electronics between the two male hegemony to bring new changes.

On October 6, SK Hynix unveiled Hi-A811, a 108-million-pixel image sensor for smartphones, at SEDEX 2022 held at COEX in Seoul. This is the first time SK Hynix has publicly disclosed an image sensor with more than 100 million pixels. This more than doubles the number of pixels compared to the 50 megapixel product the company developed last year.

The image sensor market is also expanding rapidly, as cameras are incorporated into mobile devices and various household appliances in addition to smartphones. CTOnews.com learned that Samsung Electronics introduced the world's first 100-million-pixel image sensor last year and a 200-million-pixel image sensor this year, heating up competition with Sony, which has a 40% market share.

In 2020, SK Hynix ranked seventh in the global image sensor market with a 2% share.
