China China Train 12306 App downloads and installs more than 1.7 billion times, and sells more than 1500 tickets per second at its peak

China Train 12306 App was launched in December 2013. since its launch, it has been upgraded in more than 30 major versions and 500 small versions. at present, it supports online ticketing, online seat selection, online ordering and other service functions.

According to the data, China Train 12306's App has been downloaded and installed more than 1.7 billion times, and the 12306 website (including mobile App) has a maximum daily visits of 2000 billion, with a peak of more than 1500 tickets per second, a maximum of 15.413 million tickets a day, and an annual maximum of 3.57 billion tickets, accounting for 81.1 percent of the total annual ticket sales.

CTOnews.com learned that China Train 12306 App now supports EMU train seat selection, e-ticket service, alternate ticket purchase, aging barrier-free function, and so on. The specific time period officially announced by China Railway is as follows:

February 2016: on-line train delay inquiry, complaint, suggestion and service inquiry function

December 2016: additional EMU train seat selection function

July 2017: online food booking service for high-speed rail

November 2018: pilot online e-ticket service, which now covers more than 99.9% of the travel population.
