SA: weak demand for mobile phones, RF GaAs equipment revenue will decline in 2022

CTOnews.com October 10 news, today, Strategy Analytics released a report that RF GaAs device revenue in 2020 from the first decline in more than a decade reversed the decline, and continue to rise in 2021.

The report notes that 5G devices and networks are the main drivers of this growth, but predicts RF GaAs device revenue will decline in 2022 due to inflation, trade sanctions, supply chain issues and uncertainties in the global economy.

CTOnews.com understands that Strategy Analytics said that after 2022, revenue from RF GaAs devices will approach $9.3 billion (about 66.309 billion yuan) in 2026, and growth will resume. Widespread deployment of 5G handsets and networks will be the growth engine for future revenue growth of RF GaAs devices.

GaAs device revenue is closely linked to the cellular market, with the adoption of 5G with more RF content driving revenue growth over the past two years. Mobile phone demand will be weak in 2022, which will lead to a decline in RF GaAs device revenue in 2022.
