CTOnews.com October 10 news, today, International data Corporation (IDC) released a report that in the third quarter of 2022, global PC shipments totaled 74.2 million units, the traditional PC market continues to decline. Cooling demand and supply imbalances led to a year-on-year contraction of 15.0%.

According to the report, traditional PC includes desktops, laptops, and workstations, but not tablets or x86 servers. Due to the imminent discontinuation of support for Windows 7, current PC shipments are mainly driven by commercial updates, and shipments are still much higher than before the epidemic.

CTOnews.com learned that IDC data showed that in the third quarter of 2022, the top five global PC shipments were Lenovo (22.7%), Hewlett-Packard (17.1%), Dell (16.1%), Apple (13.5%) and Asustek (7.5%).

In terms of average selling price (ASP), ASP prices rose to $910 (about 6488 yuan) in the first quarter of 2022 after five consecutive quarters of increases, the highest level since 2004. "however, as demand slows, promotions are in full swing and orders are cut, the upward trend in ASP will reverse in the second quarter of 2022. Another quarter of ASP decline indicates that the market is falling."
