The newly built Changsha-Ganzhou Railway, located in eastern Hunan Province and southwest Jiangxi Province, is an important part of the Xiamen-Chongqing Corridor, one of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" national high-speed railway networks, CCTV News reported.

In addition, the long-Jiangxi railway line leads from Changsha West Station of Changsha-Yichang high-speed railway to the southeast through Huanghua Airport and Liuyang in Changsha, Shangli, Pingxiang, Lianhua, Yongxin, Jinggangshan and Suichuan to Ganzhou City in Jiangxi Province, and connects with Ganruilong Railway and Ganshen High-speed Railway respectively.
