Their installed capacity has been surpassed by BYD for two months in a row. Although this year's installed capacity is still higher than BYD, the gap is gradually narrowing. In the case of a substantial increase in the installed capacity of Ningde era and other manufacturers, LG New Energy has also increased, but the gap is obvious. Their market share has also fallen sharply.

Data from the research institute show that in the first eight months of this year, the installed capacity of LG new energy electric vehicle batteries was 39.4GWh, an increase of 3.6GWh from 35.8 GWh in the same period last year, an increase of 10% over the same period last year, and its share fell to 13.7% from 22.3% in the same period last year.

Although the installed capacity of SK On and Samsung SDI increased in the first eight months of this year compared with the same period last year, only one of them increased, the other fell slightly, and the share of LG New Energy fell sharply, which significantly reduced the overall market share of South Korean electric car battery makers.

According to data from research institutions, the installed capacity of SK On electric vehicle batteries in the first eight months of this year was 18.4GWh, up 99.2% from a year earlier, and its market share increased to 6.4% from 5.7% in the same period last year. Samsung SDI installed 14.2GWh, up 59.7% from a year earlier, and its market share fell from 5.5% to 4.9%.

Including LG New Energy, South Korea's top three electric car battery makers installed 72GWh in the first eight months of this year, significantly higher than 53.9GWh in the same period last year, but their global share fell to 25 per cent from 33.5 per cent in the same period last year.
