CTOnews.com learned that AirConsole is part of BMW's Startup Garage program, and Startup Garage is a program for startups whose prototype products can work with the BMW Group.

BMW says AirConsole's platform fits perfectly with BMW's curved display and demonstrates the company's ability to quickly integrate third-party applications into cars. The game will run directly in the vehicle's entertainment system, and the game can be updated to the vehicle by OTA.

A spokesman for BMW said that AirConsole games can only be played when the car is parked, so for the sake of passengers' own safety, it is not allowed to play the car while driving.

BMW also said that players will need a smartphone to play in-car games, the smartphone will act as a controller, and the connection between the phone and the car will be established by scanning the QR code in the car.

It is worth mentioning that Tesla's models already provide in-car game functions, and the company also plans to build the Steam game library into the car, with 50,000 games for car owners to choose from.
