BYD yuan PLUS (ATTO 3) won the European five-star safety rating and performed well in the collision test.

CTOnews.com, Oct. 12 (Xinhua)-- BYD ATTO 3 (yuan Plus) Electric Crossing SUV received a five-star safety rating from NCAP in Europe on Wednesday, with a full score in the crash test, which is in line with ANCAP. This means that Chinese carmakers are making a big push into the European market.

The Atto 3 used in the Euro NCAP crash test is basically the same as the new car BYD has just launched in India. It is equipped with seven airbags, electronic stability control system, ISOFIX and a full set of ADAS functions, with a score of 91% in adult occupant protection (AOP), 89% in child occupant protection (COP), 69% in vulnerable road user tests and 71% in safety auxiliary tests.

However, Australian models have yet to be rated, and ANCAP said it was now "working with BYD to finalize the suitability of Australian specific model ratings".

BYD scored 91 per cent for adult occupant protection, 84 per cent for child occupant protection, 69 per cent for vulnerable road users and 80 per cent for safety aids.

In addition to BYD, Mercedes-Benz EQE also received a five-star rating, while Citroen C5X, a joint venture between Stellantis and Dongfeng, and Mobilize Limo (Yi), a joint venture between Renault and Jiangling Motors, also received a four-star rating.
