Debian 11 was released in August 2021 and has been supported for five years. It is the first Debian version of the Linux kernel that supports the exFAT file system and is used by default to mount the exFAT file system. As a result, you no longer need to use the user-space file system implementation provided through the exfat-fuse package. Tools for creating and inspecting exFAT file systems are provided in the exfatprogs package.
