Nanning opens the first intelligent blind zebra crossing to improve the travel experience of the visually impaired
CTOnews.com, October 15, according to CCTV news, today is the International Day for the Blind. in order to improve the travel experience of the visually impaired, Nanning, Guangxi recently launched the first intelligent blind zebra crossing, which is synchronously equipped with an intelligent guide system to sense the street needs of the visually impaired through intelligent devices, remind passing vehicles to pay attention to parking comity and improve the travel experience of the visually impaired.
According to reports, the intelligent blind zebra crossing needs to be used with a chip bracelet, and radio frequency identification devices are installed at both ends of the blind zebra crossing. When visually impaired people wearing a chip bracelet cross the street, the equipment can accurately identify, activate the intelligent guidance system, and the subtitle "pedestrian crossing, please be polite" will appear on the LED display screen, warning lights flash warning lights, play voice prompts, and remind passing vehicles to slow down and be courteous.
There are also small rugged white squares on the blind zebra crossing to provide touch for the visually impaired. In addition, the system only issues prompts when pedestrians pass through the road, and only emits prompts through yellow pedestrian early warning laser at night, which solves the noise problem to the maximum extent. When the visually impaired cross the street at night, the laser warning devices at both ends of the zebra crossing will also emit a red screen on the legs of pedestrians, enhancing motor vehicle drivers' recognition of pedestrians crossing the zebra crossing.
