The company was established in February 2016 with a registered capital of RMB 10 million and is wholly owned by Hangzhou Ali Venture Capital Co., Ltd.

CTOnews.com learned that Ali Music was founded on March 16,2015, and was formed by the merger of two music service applications owned by Alibaba Group, Shrimp Music and Ali Planet (formerly Tiantian Beautiful). The music service was discontinued on December 13, 2016. Shrimp music player business ceased service on February 5,2021; after 0:00 on March 5, except for the web-end musician authorization service, other operations were stopped and the server was closed.

Last year, Ali's barley announced the establishment of shrimp music entertainment content brand, set up independent music performance business department, comprehensively promote music performance brand operation.
