According to the patent summary, the present disclosure relates to VR gloves capable of measuring the movement of individual phalanges and thumb bones. The VR glove may include a plurality of inertial measurement units (IMU) to track the movement of one or more finger segments or hand segments.

The IMU may include one or more motion sensors, such as a gyroscope and an accelerometer, and the IMU can be located adjacent to the finger (or thumb) bone and can measure the inertial motion of the corresponding bone. In some examples, the VR glove may include a magnetometer to determine the direction of the geomagnetic field, and may also include one or more other electronic components, such as a plurality of electrodes, for sensing course, capacitive touch or contact sensing between fingertips.
