Apple announces a new tvOS 16 feature: Siri is easier to use
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Yushi for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, Oct. 19, in addition to releasing the new Apple TV 4K with an A15 bionic chip, Apple today also announced several new Siri-related features of Apple TV in the tvOS 16 update later this year, at least a few of which were enabled in the candidate version of tvOS 16.1. In addition, Apple today launched tvOS 16.1 RC and HomePod v16.1 RC.
Upcoming new features:
Siri speech recognition for up to six family members will enable Apple TV 4K to know who is talking and respond to suggestions tailored specifically for them based on their user profiles.
Users wearing AirPods will support "Hey Siri" without the need for a Siri remote control.
Later this year, Denmark, Luxembourg and Singapore will support Siri on tvOS. Support for Chile, Finland and South Africa has also been increased recently.
CTOnews.com learned that, in addition, Siri has been redesigned on Apple TV, with a more compact interface that allows users to quickly view the results in the lower right corner of the screen. This new design has been implemented in the candidate version of tvOS 16.1 and will be pushed to all users when tvOS 16.1 is released next week.
