CTOnews.com, October 20, according to Taiwan's Economic Daily, demand for PC is declining rapidly, and Chen Junsheng, chairman of brand giant Acer, said yesterday that the worst is yet to come.

Acer expects the PC industry to "bottom out" by the middle of next year but not to rebound. Shipments remained high in the first half of 2022 and are expected to decline in double digits in the first half of 2023 and stabilize in the second half of the year, but it does not represent a rebound.

CTOnews.com learned that Chen Junsheng said Acer's operational goal was "steady and steady", focusing on inventory and cash levels. In terms of inventory, Acer has inventories of more than T $60bn in the second quarter of this year, with the goal of falling to the previous normal range of T $40bn-T $50 billion.

Taiwan media pointed out that despite the weak market conditions in the industry as a whole, Acer still made gains in individual areas. Acer Chromebook has been gaining market share since Q1 this year and ranked first in the world with a market share of 24 per cent in the third quarter, according to the data.
