The test found that after Apple AirPods Max wireless headphones updated 4E71 firmware, active noise reduction was indeed weakened.

CTOnews.com, Oct. 23 (Xinhua)-- since the May firmware update, users have reported that the active noise reduction effect of Apple's AirPods Max wireless headphones has deteriorated, which now seems to have been verified.

In May, Apple released firmware for AirPods, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, with no new features, but affected personal audio devices. It seems that the firmware update makes AirPods Pro's ANC (active noise reduction) system a little worse.

RTings.com tests on how AirPods Max handles noise isolation show that the introduction of firmware 4E71 updates changes the characteristics of active noise reduction. After the update, the report found that the system "blocks less noise from mid-bass to high-bass than previous firmware".

CTOnews.com learned that the scope of the report's findings covered low rumbles, such as vehicle motors, train movements and aircraft engines. After the update, users will hear more of these sounds than before-but this will vary depending on how each user listens.

Even so, the report said that while the update did slightly change noise isolation levels, it was still a "relatively small difference". Active noise reduction can still "reduce noise such as persistent environmental noise and the sound of air conditioners".

Although there has been some discussion about the weakening of noise reduction since the launch of the firmware, Apple has not made any official confirmation of the change.

"Apple AirPods Max wireless headset users complain that active noise reduction is even worse after updating the" junk "4E71 firmware.
