Apple CEO Cook unexpectedly appeared in the F1 US Grand Prix: his expression was numb and slowly waved a checkered flag and was ridiculed by netizens

CTOnews.com, Oct. 24-Apple CEO Tim Cook unexpectedly appeared at the F1 US Grand Prix on Sunday, slowly waving a checkered flag on the finish line.

The Formula one US Grand Prix was held on Sunday at the American track in Austin, Texas. After 56 laps, it was none other than Tim Cook who waved the plaid flag.

CTOnews.com learned that Cook was one of the famous faces present at the game, along with Shaquille O'Neill, Brad Pitt, Serena Williams and Eddard Sheeran. However, Cook was the last to hold and wave the flag.

The chief executive held and waved flags on ESPN, wore dark polo shirts and sunglasses, but he quickly became the target of ridicule by online critics. Instead of waving quickly or enthusiastically, Cook is thought to have "moved the flag stiffly and slowly from one side to the other".

Many netizens mocked and joked, "this is not surrender in the war" and declared, "Hey, Grandpa, calm down." Even ESPN joined in.

In the game, Max Vestapan overtook Lewis Hamilton to win the game, his 13th game this year and equalled the record number of victories in a season.
