Among them, the online retail sales of physical goods totaled 8.2374 trillion yuan, up 6.1 percent, accounting for 25.7 percent of the total retail sales of consumer goods. Among the online retail sales of physical goods, food, clothing and household goods increased by 15.6 percent, 4.7 percent and 5.2 percent, respectively.

Goods and services include physical goods and non-physical goods (such as virtual goods, service goods, etc.). The total amount of retail sales of consumer goods includes online retail sales of physical goods, but does not include online retail sales of non-physical goods.

Retail sales of consumer goods totaled 3.7745 trillion yuan in September, up 2.5 percent from a year earlier, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Of this total, retail sales of consumer goods other than cars totaled 3.3532 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.2 percent. From January to September, retail sales of consumer goods totaled 32.0305 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.7 percent over the same period last year. Of this total, retail sales of consumer goods other than cars totaled 28.7131 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.7 percent.
