CTOnews.com Google was fined 9.36 billion Indian rupees again on Tuesday after India completed another antitrust investigation this month that found the company abused its market position to promote its payment apps and in-app payment systems, Reuters reported.
Just last Friday, Google was fined 13.38 billion Indian rupees (about 1.177 billion yuan) by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for Android-related monopolistic behavior.
CTOnews.com learned that Counterpoint Research data shows that 97% of the 600 million smartphones in India are powered by Google Android operating system.
Google responded to an antitrust fine imposed by the Indian government last week, saying it was a major blow to Indian consumers and businesses, and has not yet responded to a second fine.
