Sina Science and Technology News Beijing time on October 26 morning news, as part of its earnings call, Microsoft announced some new data for GitHub, GitHub, the massive popular code base service that the company acquired for $7.5 billion in 2018. According to Microsoft, GitHub's annual repetitive revenue is now $1 billion, up from the $200 million to $300 million reported at the time of the acquisition.

The company also announced that the service now has more than 90 million active users, up from 28 million at the end of the acquisition and 73 million when Thomas Thomas Dohmke replaced Nat Nat Friedman as CEO in November last year.

This is the first time Microsoft has disclosed financial data about the service since the completion of the acquisition.

Satya Nadella, Microsoft's chief executive, said on an earnings call: "since we completed the acquisition, GitHub's annual recurring revenue has reached $1 billion and GitHub's spirit of putting developers first has never been so strong. More than 90 million people now use the service, three times as many as when the acquisition was completed, and these developers use the service to build software for cloud services."

"Microsoft's Q1 revenue of $50.122 billion in fiscal 2023 increased 11% year-on-year, while net profit of $17.556 billion fell 14% year-on-year."
