Beijing time on October 27 morning news, it is reported that Volkswagen is stepping up the all-electric plan, and promised to stop production of fuel vehicles in Europe from 2033 at the latest.

Volkswagen brand head Thomas Schaefer said the company will launch 10 new electric vehicles by 2026, including entry-level models expected to sell for less than 25,000 euros ($25,200). Volkswagen has said it will stop selling fuel-powered cars in Europe between 2033 and 2035.

Volkswagen has expanded this field with the ID series of pure electric vehicles, hoping to challenge Tesla's position, but the actual performance is not satisfactory. Because buyers of the original ID.3 hatchback were willing to wait months to install certain features, the car didn't start delivering until 2020. VW's electric cars also suffer from software problems, which helped lead to the departure of CEO Heerbert Diess, who was replaced last month by Porsche chief Oliver Blume.

Schaefer, who was in charge of Volkswagen Group's Skoda brand, said the company would bring forward the ID.3 redesign to next year. The model will "make a significant leap forward in terms of quality, materials and system stability."
