CTOnews.com, Oct. 27 (Xinhua)-- Snap CEO Evan Spiegel said Apple's App tracking transparency since iOS 14 has damaged its Snapchat app, but he believes Apple has done the right thing for users and businesses, according to the Wall Street Journal.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple requires apps to ask users for specific permission to track them, which has had a big impact on advertisers and app developers. Spiegel, chief executive of Snap, said the move had an impact, but he believed Apple was adjusting to help developers.

"I think the good thing is that I am optimistic that Apple does continue to iterate," Evan Spiegel said. "so while this transition is disruptive, I see that the Apple team is really committed to continuing to improve so that their developers can succeed on the Apple platform."

Spiegel acknowledged that Apple's move has posed a challenge to his business so far, saying he supports Apple because he agrees that user privacy is the most important.

"We have always been very concerned about privacy," he continued. "We were really the first to create fleeting communications." This may refer to the "burning after reading" message.
