Sony said that the new product continues Sony's classic microphone masterpieces C-800G and C-100's high-quality pickup technology, with excellent sound quality and stable noise reduction performance, rich details, dynamic width and mellow vocals. Under the condition of non-professional recording studio, C-80 can also faithfully present clear, stable and mellow recording effect for sound creators in different fields such as anchor, video dubbing worker and musician.

In terms of parameters, the new C-80 is equipped with a large diaphragm capacitor microphone with a diameter of about 1 inch. It draws on the structure of the previous generation C-100 pickup head and the same diaphragm material as the legendary generation C-800G in the industry. Combined with the cardioid directional design, it has high sensitivity and can easily record the subtle performance of sound. The dual diaphragm design of the pickup effectively suppresses the distortion caused by the change of sound with distance, making the recording effect more stable.
