CTOnews.com, October 29 (Xinhua)-- Mercedes-Benz released its latest performance report that global car sales in the third quarter of 2022 were 520100, up 20 percent from a year ago, including 517800 Mercedes-Benz passenger cars (up 21 percent) and a small number of trucks.

The brightest of these is that Mercedes-Benz's all-electric car sales more than doubled in Q3, reaching 30000 units in a single quarter. In September, in particular, a record 13100 pure electric vehicles were sold, including 3400 Mercedes-Benz EQB.

According to reports, sales of Mercedes-Benz new energy vehicles (BEV and PHEV) reached 75900 in the third quarter (up 23 per cent year-on-year), accounting for nearly 15 per cent of total sales. But in fact, across Europe, the share of new energy vehicles is much higher, at 34%.

CTOnews.com learned that Mercedes-Benz's EQ series currently includes eight models: EQA, EQB, EQC, EQE, EQE SUV, EQS, EQS SUV and EQV.

Mercedes-Benz global new energy vehicle sales in the third quarter of 2022 (preliminary statistics):

Pure electric vehicles (excluding smart cars): 30000 (up 115% from 14000 a year ago)

Including 5400 EQS and 3500 EQE

Plug-in hybrid: 45900

Total number of new energy vehicles: 75900 (up 23%), share close to 15%

In the first half of the year, Mercedes-Benz sold about 139600 new energy vehicles:

Pure electricity (excluding intelligence): 75400 (up 126% from 33400 a year ago)

Plug-in hybrid: 140000

Total new energy: 215400 (up 17%)
