Volkswagen: orders for ID.Buzz electric vehicles exceed 20,000 units
CTOnews.com, October 30, according to insideevs, Volkswagen Commercial vehicles announced orders for more than 20,000 ID.Buzz electric vehicles.
Lars Krause, a member of the Volkswagen Commercial vehicle sales and Marketing Brand Management Committee, explained: "before the launch of the dealership, we were able to sell more than 20,000 ID.Buzz electric vehicles from pre-sale. As they arrive in the showroom, we now expect demand to soar further."
CTOnews.com learned that the ID.Buzz electric car, launched in March this year, is based on the MEB pure electric platform, with a retro design, inspired by the classic Volkswagen "van" T1.
In early June, ID.Buzz was put into production in Hanover, Germany. Volkswagen said it plans to produce 15000 vehicles by the end of 2022 and then gradually increase production to 130000 a year in the future.
