Nothing Phone (1) phone pushes Nothing OS 1.1.6 update: increase screen maximum brightness, support Google AR Core and Jio 5G

Recently, Nothing Phone (1) pushed Nothing OS 1.1.6 update, download package size for 62MB, brought some new features and fixes and so on.

CTOnews.com learned that the update brings support for Google AR Core and 5G network support for Jio in India. On the camera side, the update promises clearer video, improved stability, and lights on by default. The phone launcher experience will feel smoother, the battery status will be more accurate, and the NFC sound effects have been updated.

The maximum brightness when displaying HDR content has been increased, but it is not clear to what extent. As early as August, there was some controversy about the maximum brightness of the display screen, which was officially claimed to be 1200 nits, but users found that the peak had never been reached.

Nothing has never clarified that hardware can achieve this level, but in order to achieve a balanced user experience in terms of heat and battery consumption, screen brightness is limited to 700 nits in software. At present, this limit has been removed or at least raised to some extent.

Finally, there are several Glyph-related improvements: newer, "more responsive" Flip to Glyph animations, and Glyph charging lights are now "synchronized with sound effects". Of course, "generic error Bug fixes" are also mentioned.
