Criticized for charging $20 for blue certification, Musk responded that Twitter could not rely entirely on advertisers
On the afternoon of November 1, it was reported that Musk was planning to charge blue certified users a fee of $20 a month to keep their blue certification. Blue-certified users are the real accounts of celebrities, politicians, journalists and other public figures.
In response, famous writer Stephen King said that if the plan is really implemented, he will leave Twitter.
Later, Musk responded on his Twitter today: "We need to pay the bill in some way! Twitter can't rely entirely on advertisers. How about $8?"
He also said he would explain his reasons for doing so in a longer form before implementing it. Musk believes that this is the only way to defeat robots and sprinklers.
