Intel's fourth generation Xeon scalable processor Sapphire Rapids will be launched on January 10 next year.

CTOnews.com, November 2 news, after numerous delays, Intel fourth-generation Xeon scalable processor Sapphire Rapids finally has a launch date, Intel yesterday confirmed that the new data center CPU based on Intel 7 technology will arrive on January 10 next year.

According to official information, Intel is preparing to launch products that are "eligible for listing". This probably means that not all known Sapphire Rapids processors SKU will be launched at the same time, of course, this is better than none, after all, this processor has been delayed many times.

According to TrendForce's research, Intel Sapphire Rapids production is delayed because of poor yield of Intel 7 process. This is also the 10 nm process used by Alder Lake and Raptor Lake, but Intel called the process node "very healthy" a few months ago.

CTOnews.com learned that Intel's fourth-generation Xeon scalable processor Sapphire Rapids is designed for the "Eagle Stream" platform and will support PCIe Gen5 and DDR5 technologies. It will also be compatible with a follow-up product called "Emerald Rapids" launched in the same year. The new CPU will provide up to 60 cores based on the "Golden Cove" architecture, all of which are large cores, also known as "performance" cores.
