CTOnews.com, Nov. 3 (Xinhua)-- Twitter announced the cancellation of the upcoming Chirp developer conference on November 16 after it was acquired by Musk without giving a reason.

"the Twitter team is now working to make Twitter better serve everyone-including developers," the official notice said. "although we are preparing something exciting for you, we have decided to cancel the Chirp developer conference."

A Twitter spokesman declined to comment on the reasons for the cancellation, according to Engadget.

CTOnews.com learned that just two weeks ago, media members received an invitation to sign up for Chirp, the spokesman said at the time: "Chirp is the first time we have personally gathered developer communities from around the world to preview some new tools, discuss feedback, and celebrate developers making it easier for people on Twitter to discover content, engage in more secure conversations, and influence greater interests."

Musk recently bought Twitter and said it would launch a $8 Twitter subscription service that would authenticate subscribers, increase the visibility of their posts and allow them to see fewer ads. So it's not surprising that he has a problem with Twitter's current development route, which may have led to the cancellation of the Chirp developer conference.
