The growth momentum of the global hydrogen car market is slower than that of last year, automobile companies generally take electric vehicles as their strategic focus, semiconductors and other components and raw materials supply bottlenecks continue, and the war between Russia and Ukraine has also become a negative factor for hydrogen vehicles.

CTOnews.com learned that Hyundai ranked first in the world with sales of 8449 vehicles in the first nine months of this year, up 23.2% from a year earlier. Toyota, in second place, sold 2619 vehicles in the first three quarters, down 47.7% from a year earlier. Hyundai's global market share is 58.7%, much higher than Toyota's 18.2%, and the market share gap between the two hydrogen giants has widened to more than 40 percentage points.

According to previous reports, Toyota will import and sell the second-generation Mirai in China by the end of this year, after which it plans to achieve local production in China, so Toyota is expected to gradually recover from the loss of market share. Hyundai has also been preparing to enter its home market by the end of the year, and the manufacturer has planned to launch a model that complies with local regulations on the basis of the Nexo, the first generation.
