Boeing: plans to restore financial strength in the next three years to get rid of problems such as the 737 MAX crash

CTOnews.com, Nov. 3 (Xinhua)-- aircraft maker Boeing said Wednesday it plans to regain its financial strength over the next three years after losing money after two 737 MAX crashes and other problems, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Brian West, Boeing's chief financial officer, said the company expects annual sales of about $100 billion (730 billion yuan) by 2025 or 2026, a level the company has not achieved since 2018. The first of two MAX crashes at the end of 2018 led to the biggest crisis in the company's history.

CTOnews.com learned that Boeing CEO David Calhoun said the company is determined to get rid of the disruptions caused by MAX crashes, outbreaks and other regulatory and stability issues in recent years and create returns for shareholders.

In addition, in August, Boeing delivered a Boeing 787 Dreamliner to American Airlines, the first to resume delivery since delivery was suspended in May 2021.

Boeing halted delivery of the 787 Dreamliner at the end of 2020 because of production defects. Boeing said earlier this year that production defects and falling production during delivery would cost it $5.5 billion (about 37.015 billion yuan).
