China's independent third-generation nuclear power, Zhongguang Nuclear Power Zhejiang Sanao Nuclear Power Project Unit 1 completed dome hoisting

CTOnews.com news on November 3, today, China General Nuclear Group Zhejiang Sanao nuclear power project unit 1 successfully completed the dome hoisting, marking the No. 1 unit from the civil construction stage to the equipment installation phase.

CTOnews.com learned that Unit 1 of the Sanao Nuclear Power Project is the fifth 'Hualong No.1' nuclear power unit to complete the hoisting of the dome, with a weight of 238.5 tons and a diameter of 45 meters. Six "Hualong No. 1" nuclear power units are planned to be built in Zhongguang Nuclear Power Zhejiang Sanao Nuclear Power Project, and two units in the first phase of the project will start construction in 2020 and 2021 respectively.

The dome, located at the top of the nuclear island, is a key component of the third safety barrier of the nuclear power plant, which is of great significance for ensuring the integrity and tightness of the reactor building and realizing the inherent safety characteristics. therefore, the hoisting of the dome has become an important milestone in the construction of nuclear power projects.

According to Zhongguang Nuclear data, after the project is completed, it will provide green electricity of about 52.5 billion kilowatt-hours per year to the Yangtze River Delta region. In 2021, the electricity consumption of Wenzhou will be reduced by 15.88 million tons of standard coal and 43.68 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to afforestation of 118000 hectares.
