AMD confirms that Halo: infinite will support RayTracing in March next year
CTOnews.com, November 4 (Xinhua)-- chip giant AMD has revealed that the long-promised Halo: infinity will finally support ray tracing.
In a live broadcast of today's AMD launch, AMD revealed that "Halo: infinite" ray tracing is in development and will be available to PC players at the start of the third season of the game in March next year.
Back in 2020, Microsoft promised that the latest version of its competitive shooting game Halo: infinity would use ray tracing technology, but failed to keep its promise. Ray tracing is a technique for creating physics-based lighting that adds vitality and realism to game scenes.
In the live broadcast, AMD demonstrated its "Halo: infinity" ray-tracing technology, which provides light-chasing shadows for large team combat and arena modes. The game has stronger performance, better shadows and lighting effects on the RDNA 3 GPU of AMD's new graphics card Radeon RX 7000.
It is said that the new ray tracing feature will appear in the third season of Halo: infinity, which is expected to be released sometime next year. The next major Halo: infinite update, known as the Winter Update, will bring a series of improvements, including the long-awaited Forge mode.
CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft's Horizon 5 also announced that ray tracing was on the way.
