CTOnews.com, November 4, according to the official information from the IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group of China Information and Communication Institute, Qualcomm Technology recently completed the technical verification of the 5G millimeter wave independent networking project in the laboratory and the current network with a number of system network manufacturers.

CTOnews.com learned that this series of tests used CPE test terminals equipped with Snapdragon X655G modem and RF system, and tested FR2 only technology in millimeter wave independent networking (SA) mode with network manufacturers such as ZTE, Shanghai Nokia Bell and CITIC Mobile respectively.

Tests verify the functions of downlink 4X200MHz channel bandwidth, downlink 256QAM, DSUUU, uplink 2X200MHz and mobility. At the same time, the synchronization of core performance indicators such as single user throughput, user plane and control plane delay, beam handoff and cell handoff are verified.

Among them, in the docking environment with ZTE system, the downlink peak rate exceeds 7.1Gbps when using DDDSU frame structure, and the minimum delay is 3.6ms when the uplink peak speed exceeds 2.1Gbps with DSUUU frame structure.

According to reports, compared with Sub-6GHz technology, millimeter wave independent networking mode has higher FR2 only rate and ultra-low delay; at the same time, this technology does not rely on the Sub-6GHz band, which makes the deployment more flexible.
