Can you detect road anger? Huawei new patent authorized

CTOnews.com, Nov. 4, recently, Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. has been granted a patent for "traffic distress and road anger detection methods".

According to the summary, the patent provides a system for determining the traffic distress of a vehicle driver, including a number of sensors: in-vehicle image sensor, in-vehicle audio sensor, vehicle data sensor and global positioning system (GPS) data sensor. It also includes one or more processors for receiving inputs from a plurality of sensors and processing the received inputs to obtain driver heat change estimation, driver expression estimation, driver posture estimation, vehicle diagnosis system estimation and GPS estimation.

CTOnews.com has learned that the processor is also used to store the estimates in memory, generate deviation scores for each estimate using the stored estimates, execute a machine learning algorithm to classify driver behavior as normal or abnormal based on the deviation score, and generate warnings based on a classification indicating abnormal driver behavior.
